  1. I love this and think this is so cool. Maybe adding a small windmill to your home might help add more energy collection. I would love to see how well that works!!

  2. Love my solar setup! I didn't go through Tesla and my system is much smaller, but can produce a little over 60kwh on good days. I have a 20kwh battery backup that isn't quite enough for whole home with hvac, but plenty for most appliances even portable AC and electric fireplaces. I only pay the service fees month to month (except for one month in the winter last year I had a small bill). The electric heat pump has the most usage by far for me. I seriously enjoy your content man! This video was extra interesting since my system got switched on around the same time.

  3. ok, but importantly, is there any cleaning of the solar panels that needs to happen? and if and when you do clean them, is there a noticeable increase in performance?

  4. In NC Duke Energy Progress charges me more like $14-16 dollars a month just to have an account. Drives me crazy. Also I hate that they also zero out the credits too Once a year.

  5. No mention on replacing batteries and the car itself, and the roof in 25 years. No mention on the opportunity cost. This thing will take 50 years to be paid off, if ever!
It's not about financial sense. It's about user comfort and convenience. If it's for you, great. If not, 100-300K investment for going all electric just doesn't make financial sense! AT ALL!

  6. If youโ€™re going to switch heating to electric, I highly recommend geothermal. Itโ€™s amazing. Just gotta have room to install it.

  7. Is there any recommendation from Tesla about cleaning the roof in this set up? I imagine that a the efficiency goes down with dirt (dust, leaves, etc)

  8. Pretty good little insight into what it's like getting into such a setup.

A general question though about it: is there an average consumption coverage guarantee clause that's provided in the contract when adopting a Tesla or any other Solar power setup?

For example, you're guaranteed to get X Kwh power from this system for an average of 12 months, based on usage patterns and other semantics of course.

The worse thing you can do is to get into such a setup, to find out 12 months later that it covers 50% or less of your power needs.

  9. I wish i had this ^^ would love it, coooozy ;D Am to poor atm to even have thoughts of this, tho i have a mini 200 watt solar with an inverter for just emergency's and charging my powerbanks :3

  10. Would have like to have heard if your home owners insurance went up or not. Did the increased value raise taxes? The home stuff is cool and all but I live in a similar area and would love that info for a follow up down the road.

  11. I basically wrote a research paper for my semester thesis submission on how Solar is the way forward for India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ
The basis of my thesis were the 3 Kwh solar rooftops and they took an estimated 3 years to cover all costs. So in that manner the Solar Roof is more affordable if you have the wealth for it

  12. Iโ€™m so down to implementing this in my entire country. Thanks MKB for the detailed breakdown. Kind regards from Bangladesh ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฉ

  13. How difficult was the solar tiling's installation? is it easy enough that most general contractors can just figure it out with the electrician, if i go by a non-Powerwall regular Lead Acid battery array and a third party inverter?

  14. If you are spending $100k on a solar roof you can definitely afford to replace your heating and cooling with an in ground heat pump with much better efficiency for both heating and cooling. Resistive electric heating is just about the least efficient way to heat. AC is already a heat pump but burying the transfer coils a couple feet down into the earth where the temp never really changes will increase efficiency of the transfer by increasing the temp differential so the same amount of pumping transfers more heat(to or from the earth).

  15. Would be cool but I need to make more money in the mean time ๐Ÿ˜… Iโ€™m definitely looking into this but maybe later on this stuff is gonna improve drastically.

  16. Great video ! And yes the key point is anyone investing money now is an early adopter, and pays a premium. But with our solar, home battery, 2 x EV's… our spending of money on energy has gone down drastically. Leaves a lot more cash in hand each month to spend on other things. And THAT is the hidden benefit of solar and EV's that the big polluting businesses don't want you to know about.

  17. The roof solar tile is an impressive option I also would have opted for……….and the sleep 8 as well………but the off grid (no worries power outage kick ๐Ÿฆต ๐Ÿฆถ in is pleasing to say the least) economics are very satisfying to the pockets 4sure and future use of these EVs as a back up is pretty interesting ๐Ÿค” considering all the blackout talk ๐Ÿฆœof late………..now the only thing needed to sustain life in the not so distant future is a similar set up for the green ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ house ๐Ÿก………to produce food ๐Ÿฅ‘๐Ÿฅ off the soil………. ๐Ÿ™ˆ Seeing how government is moving to lab ๐Ÿงช๐Ÿงซ batize protein from livestock with just a few drawn cells ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ข……….the slaughtering of animals and upkeep of farming life as we know it ……will be a thing of the past ( its why farmers are all being ran out of town by the likes of Bill Gates and the crew of cronies )( just another control mechanism )…………so why would they care if the ground is polluted from what rains down ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘Ž and drains off into the water ๐ŸŒŠ ways doing even more damage to the wildlife eco system………couple bags of potting soil and a greenhouse to keep the rain ๐ŸŒง๏ธ off but a retractable roof to let the sunlight in would be ideal……….for all who could afford……….naturally…… โœŒ๏ธ ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
