Quite possibly the most overrated game of the decade. When all of your guys die in one hit and the enemies critical you every single time they hit you… yah trash
I didn't see who did this review before watching. Then he says something negative about a great game, and I'm like… "Oh, its IGN. Makes sense." IGN is a joke and their reviews hold no merit. This game, and its series, are amazing. Sorry it's not an A-Listed FPS. There ARE other genres out there.

I see what the reviewer means about the learning curve, in the context of the review: he isn't complaining that it's difficult, but that it's obtuse enough that by the time you figure it out, your first play through is likely affected. Difficult games aren't a bad thing, but that doesn't means games can't outline your objectives and priorities earlier on.
Either way, it's not like 8+ is a bad score. People have become so expectant of that "10/10" rating that they seem to have forgotten that this means perfect, not average. Difficulty aside, XCOM isn't perfect. The linearity of the levels is enough to kick it down a level for me, fun though it is.

I remember Team PGP playing this. I think they played it. Anyway going to install this as while I don't usually play this sort of game I like how it has cut scenes which this reviewer disliked. I think they are needed to attract new players like me. Thanks for this review IGN.

Its pretty scary when a review tells you that its the kind of game where you could get 12 hours into it and discover that there is no way you can win. This seemed to be the only descent GWG title for June 2016….and now I think that I won't even get THIS.
