Citroën Basalt Vision is a daring concept of a very compact SUV Coupé which ensures the convergence of several customer expectations. It will be the first model in this territory to borrow the attributes of different automobile codes. Through its SUV character it is aspirational and expresses modernity, robustness and a reassuring side. Powerful and muscular, it presents a confident and solid stance on the road based on increased ground clearance, a high hood and a verticalized front, widened fenders and protected wheel arches with very marked geometric shapes. Its coupe-like trailing line at the rear gives it fluidity and dynamism for a model that expresses energy and tension. The whole thing is both racy and elegant with balanced proportions and a slender silhouette that suggests aerodynamic efficiency.
Citroën confirms its ambitions in terms of creativity by unveiling this unique silhouette concept. Its unique positioning at the crossroads justifies a dedicated name, Basalt, which will be retained during its marketing. Basalt shares with this volcanic rock, born from the energy of the earth, the promise of robustness and serenity that this resistant and timeless material represents. Values which correspond perfectly to a vehicle which will reassure its owner with its endurance and reliability, and will allow him to be zen aboard a real cocoon. Citroën Basalt Vision is an SUV Coupé which has all the advantages of a 5-door sedan. The increased ground clearance makes it easier to get in and out of a vehicle that offers space, both front and rear. Associated with protective shields at the front and rear and side protections, it promotes a feeling of security to calmly approach driving in difficult and degraded conditions. Each journey aboard Basalt Vision will be a moment of relaxation and comfort as one would expect from a Citroën.
After C3 and C3 Aircross, Citroën Basalt Vision is the 3rd stage of the C-Cubed program deployed specifically to ensure the growth of Citroën in two strategic regions, India and South America. These three models are based on the same Smart Car platform configured specifically to meet the expectations of customers in these markets, illustrating the modularity and efficiency of this platform.
