  1. Just delete all social media apps. These phones are a grift aimed at people whose will isn't strong enough to do that and so they think they can pay for a shortcut.

  2. I like the idea of a minimalist phone, but I am not on board with paying 8 times the price of my Android phone for the (lack of) convenience.

  3. Why need a dumb phone for that? Simply have an "app" on your smartphone that puts it in "light" mode. This is easily be done by both phone makers and app makers. Example – the Navigation mode in Android phones, Kid mode, E-Ink mode, Reader mode, etc….

That way you have STILL have a smartphone for those critical times when you do need the internet. And for those who will be tempted to exit light mode or addicted to their smartphone, provide options to make it "tough" to EXIT the "light" mode. Kid mode apps already do this kind of thing for making it hard for kids to exit out of kid mode. Why need to make a whole dumb phone and have to carry/manage/charge yet one more device?

  4. I really like at least the idea of the Minimal Phone so much better, since it still runs full android but is just less optimal for things like tictok so you don't really feel like using it. Would love to see a full review for that phone!

  5. Zune hardware was miles better than what Apple was giving with their iPod lineup…the software was somewhere back in the early WIN95 level of awful though. What could have been…

  6. This phone is for that one friend who constantly complains about wanting to get off their phone. So they can blow 800$ to achieve that goal, then 2 weeks later go back to their normal phone because smart phones are useful. Just uninstall the time wasters, problem solved

  7. if you're dedicated enough to use a phone like that, then you're dedicated enough to just delete all distractions on your smart phone. See the problem with this idea?
