Ya its ridiculously expensive given you can buy an Amazfit watch for between $50 and $200 with battery life of 14 to 28 days. However, the fact this, coming soon, can be used as a Dive Computer down to 40m suddenly makes this watch almost worth it. I hate Apple but suddenly Im interested.
I don’t need it, but boy do I want it. It looks stunning. The orange strap version is for me.

I am a bit tired of charging two times a day for 7. Even 24hr battery life will make me happy.
I think it’s an awesome product. It’s not for me, but I love how they’re pushing the envelope with a top tier line.
Garmin watches last 15 days… and are solar. Why would you take a watch on “extreme activities” in the middle of no where and the battery dies in a day and half……
A whole 36 hours …. wow. Let me just check my Fenix 7 … now on its 12 day without charging

Tbh i was expecting much more from a rugged watch, people who use garmin spend more than 1.5k for a reason. Hope they get much better next year. For me is too low spec.. battery life very weak, no nvg mode, no expedition mode ecc ecc
Trap under avalanche, the siren might come in handy
Just ordered one. Better battery life, big screen, big size, more physical buttons for gloves use is great already. I hope they add more customizations to battle Garmin. And I would totally use it as a dive computer if someone design a wireless tank pod to monitor diving tank pressure!

I don’t dive but as soon as they started discussing I went & looked at least for divers it seems like they’d be getting basically a top end wrist dive computer [if they’re not needing one that can go deeper] stuffed inside their watch which if they were considering upgrading tech would possibly save them money in addition to possible added convenience not to mention all the other features because it’s an apple watch including emergency sat connection, etc.
I’ll stick with my Garmin
The other interesting part of the Apple Watch series is that there was a flat-edge normal Apple watch rumored for the last two years. I feel like the Ultra what was being worked on behind the scenes. I feel like Apple doesn't have to make massive upgrades to the normal Apple Watch anymore with the Ultra now available.

the huwawei gt2 pro did titanium and saphire like 2 years ago. as usual apple playing catch up and acting as tho its innovation.
