DRONE RACING SIMULATORS – My Opinion

My opinion towards the Drone Racing Sims out there right now.
My PC does not record these with the highest graphics so please keep that in mind!

  1. That’s my big thing as a new pilot. Line of sight is what all new flyers should do. But none of these games have line of sight options ?‍♂ī¸

  2. Great Video, I Have A Quick Question If Ya Don't Mind Answering.. I Have Just Gotten Into The Hobby, And I Recently Purchased And Downloaded "Lift-Off", But I Have Some Issues With It, My Turnigy Evolution, And My MacBook.. It Is Very Glitchy, The Controls Are Hard To Manage, And I Think It Is Just Wanting More Resources Than My MacBook Will Provide. That Being Said, Could You Recommend A Sim That Will Work With Lower Resources, Or Is This Just A Common Problem With "Lift-Off"??

  3. I have real flight simulator. 6.5 I want to use real flight this transmitter. with drone racing simulator.
pls tell me with which drone racing simulator I can use this transmitter? ??

  4. I've watched this vid more than a few times but it always cracks me up when you say you went to your first event and you felt "over prepared". To crush and humiliate your opponent is a good thing 🙂 . If that is you flying in this vid … you would be my first choice to play on my dodge ball team. m/

  5. So glad I came across this video today!!! I had never heard of FPV Event before!! I LOVE it!! Took some third party software to get it to work with my DX5e, but it is by far the best FPV racing simulator I've used. I've tried quite a few. FPV Freerider, Liftoff, Real Flight Drone simulator (FPV but no racing courses) And drones on a few non drone specific sims like Phoenix RC, (no FPV) and the newer Real Flight X, which is so far the worst one I've used for acro flight physics.. thanks for the video! FPV Event PE is expensive, but not as expensive as wrecking quads like crazy.. you are 100% right it is very hard to gain good flying skills when you can only fly 4-5 minutes at a time, and that's if you don't crash. (Update! No longer using the mic port and dx5e, a proper transmitter and i can fly soo much better now!!! Huge huge difference!! )

  6. One big MINUS to FPV Event is the fact it aint compatible with Mac. And both Freerider as well as Liftoff are. So I can't play it!

  7. Does any one know what settings should I use to make as close as possible to eachine 250 racer? I ordered one and would like to practise with sim with closes settings to real live. Thanks

  8. Looking for controller recommendations to use on these simulators. It looks like I can't use a Spektrum Dx6 controller for gaming simulations. Can anyone suggest a realistic drone racing controller that can plug into the USB port in my computer that will be compatible with these sim games?

  9. I don't like Liftoff at all, sure the workbench is cool but that's where it stops for me.
You can't fly very far, you can't fly high, and somehow this simulator requires me to make a profile with 50 weight and 50 something else on all channels. basically limiting the sensitivity of the control inputs as you have half the potential values.

I wish someone made a simulator with the feel of FPV Event, workbench like liftoff have and a good multiplayer lobby.
I want to build my own drone with colors on standoffs and screws and everything.

Shouldn't be hard to do tho, just use power numbers, weight and size for all motors and batteries, total area of drone frame for air resistance ect.

For now i'll stick with fpv-event tho. but i hope they introduce some modifying options and a multiplayer event where you can inspect drones and show them off.

  10. Hi, Thanks for the info.
Do you know how to connect FPV Event PE to a Taranis X9D PLUS controller?
I can connect and use it with… FPV Freerider RECHARGED & Liftoff…
    BUT
I can't with Hotprops, DRL, RotorCross OR FPV Event PE.
Any Ideas how I can get it to connect and work?
    Thanks.

  11. Great vid. Have been flying Freerider, Liftoff and HotProps. Haven't tried Event PE yet, but from your video I am now very tempted!

  12. Hi, great vid. I'm just getting into drone racing. Was going to get a cheap setup for Christmas, but I saw your vid and thought I'd try out a simulator. I am so glad I did because I realised that flying well requires some skill (to say the least, lol). Anyway, I have decided to go a bit slower and get the controller, practice on a sim, then the goggles, practice on a sim, then bite the bullet and buy a decent quad.

My question is, is this advice still applicable? Has liftoff been fixed? Obviously I have no point of reference, having never flown a real quadcopter, but I want to make sure my muscle memory training is as accurate as possible.

  13. Thanks for your video- you still think FPV EVENT PE is the best- any improvements to date with Liftoff or freerider that has increased your opinion on them? What about free sims like Hotprops and DRL simulator? Thank you

  14. Helpful video, thanks for doing it! There seems to be mixed opinions on Lift Off. Maybe they have made some positive changes since you did this video. I'll probably try that one out soon. Question though – what's the best approach for LOS in FPV Freerider?
