  1. You are measuring the temperature of the can and the bottle holding the liquid, that's not accurate. Because water (what most beverages are based off of) greatly resist change in temperature. Thats why a glass of water won't be as cold as an ice cube that you put inside it. So, this is basically what you're doing, you're measuring the temperature of the ice cold can or bottle that's holding it. It's like measuring how hot your stove flames are and saying that's how hot the water in the pot on top of it is that hasn't been on the stove for more than 2 secs. Get it?
