Tesla is not trying to dominate the market. Musk has said on numerous occasions that the Tesla company was built to show that electric cars are a viable option and to dominate the BATTERY market. They have already accomplished both goals as most electric cars use Tesla batteries.
The auto production division has yet to make a profit.

Another JAPANSE trick ???? Japanese DIid NOT extend any Range on MISSAN leaf 2018 . Japanese are NOT good in Electricity. They are very good in Electronics ( again NOT electricity They can NOT recapture BEMF ) As owner of Nissan leaf 2018 e – pedal does NOT work at all !!! In fact NOT using E pedal neither ECHO ( garbage ) I get more Kilometers . E – pedal is only good for saving you money on the Shoe brakes and rotors maybe, because I do NOT have to brake at all . jusko@engineer.com . I am just writing this fact ( negativity) so other owners test it out and hopefully we get RECALL and Nissan leaf 2018 and they will fix it if you contact your Dealer or Nissan . E pedal on E golf and Ionique works very well, because you will see when you remove foot from e pedal = Kilometer ( or miles ) will encrease . if you have 100 Km left on battery , wait untill it drops to 99, then imidiatelly remove your foot from e pedal ===>>> you will see Km left will go up to 100 Km. ICE cars are a thing of the past. People better get on board or get stuck in the past. These fossil fuel companies better start placing electric stations before Elon takes over that entire market. Given they're being stubborn like the people who relied on their horse and carriage businesses when steam cars were slowly taking over. Last thing they want to do is turn out like Blockbuster when Netflix started going digital, and they refused the modern day change. Now Blockbuster has turned into an insignificant relic. As will these gas stations. They should of known change was coming when we switched from steam engine trains to electric trains. Inevitably electric cars were going to take over. Especially given since we don't even use standard motors in today's cars now. It's all computerized.
I don't agree with the statement "……..Tesla is trying to monopolize the market …….." they are just making and selling their EVs, they aren't blocking others to sell theirs. Or lobbing to get special treatment.
