  1. The Last Clockwinder was really a great game that has a very robust mechanic only possible with VR. I would definitely say it's a must play for anyone who enjoys new gameplay only possible in VR.

  2. Is Wanderer schedule to come to the quest?

Also if any devs are reading this please can we have a different kind of supernatural/paranormal game that isn't a full on gore fest (not dissing Zombies or full on horror games they just tend not to be my cup of tea) such as some sort of a VR multiplayer game based on the LARP vampire scene or some Fantasy films/books.

PS I am aware of and hyped for the Ghostbusters game.

  3. Of this list, I made bhaptics mods for Zenith, RUINSMAGUS, Vox Machinae, The Living Remain, and Bonelab. 🤣

My absolute favorite though still has to be Wanderer. It completely wowed me in graphics, mechanics, and story. But I have to admit that being reminded of The Living Remain in this video, I grew really fond of this one as well. And very awesome and kind developers.

  4. I am a competitive Gamer and love such games so I think Vail VR was the best VR game for me this year especially for that I got it for free. But everyone likes something else so…

  5. I agree with most of your list with two exceptions: Green Hell VR is the most disappointing vr game of the year for me. The performance of the game is just a huge mess. Even with my 4090/g2 (100% steam resolution) it isnt even close to stable 90fps with constant drops to the low 60s on max settings (even with light shafts off). And if i would start to share my Q2 airlink/vd experiences with this game, the technical execution is even worse. On the other hand, i do not share your view on vail. From a technical point of view vail is just the pure opposite of Green Hell VR. Even with my 3080 i had a smooth 90fps experience at max settings and fsr. The server stability is just excellent and the shooting mechanics are great. The only downside that is true for me: The community is not large. But i honestly think, that this is one of the best vr releases of the last year. Missing on your list is Mirage: Kayak VR. When i comes to graphics, it easily beats even hubris. It is the perfect game to relax and let your mind float in free roam mode.

  6. Just in time for Steam Sales
    My cart is currently:
    Half Life Alyx
    Walking Dead Saints and Sinners
    Blade and Sorcery
    Walkabout Minigolf
    Into the Radius

  7. Without Contractors mods, I'd be STARVED this year.
Zenith made me hopeful because it proved to me that VRMMORPGs are a thing that will work. There was a glimpse into something amazing at times there, like we often have with VR. When I ran into a cave and found a bunch of people killing snake-dudes, it just felt good to my old MMO player heart. It was like the good parts of VR chat, but there is a point to it all. I am comforted by knowing it's gonna happen. Once we get a "good one", or Zenith gets a massive patch, it's gonna take off in a huge way. People are hungry for it, Zenith just wasn't the one. I need fantasy and much more than 2 classes…

Also agree about Vail. That game did not stand up to its hype. Felt like a bland game made with unity store assets… The free stuff.. I hated the guns, they were just laser pointers.. Brrrrrt… lame.

Overall the year was pretty mediocre for me. The hype around PSVR2 has been nice. I have hopes for 2023. It might be STACKED.

  8. An overall excellent video and overview! Even The Living Remain, LONN and the great PCVR mods were mentioned!
I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, Matteo. 🙂

  9. I think Vail is one of those games that you either love or hate. I've been testing it since it was in alpha, and it's come a long way. I quite like it, as it has by far the best gun mechanics in a VR shooter. However, they definitely need a quest release to keep this game alive. According to aoud, there are plans to add custom gamemodes and mods to vail, so you can expect more stuff coming later.

  10. despite much complaints, it was surprisingly good enough. pcvr fanbois don't enjoy most indies because targeting Quest but they also don't enjoy whenever something big like Hitman or Skyrim come to VR with minor issues, instead preferring mods with a lot more issues, limitations and friction, so go figure – guess what really makes them happy is upgrading GPUs, messing with config files and complaining on forums… as far as a Quest and psvr fan I've been, I've enjoyed what has been available…
