  1. Marques, try to use Logitech gestures for changing workspaces in Mac instead with that MX Master. For example you hold down the thumb button and move mouse left/right to switch workspaces.

  2. All I know is thank goodness I wasnā€™t driving yet when Apple Maps came out.
Remember, there also wasnā€™t even a 3rd party Google Maps app available on the App Store when Apple Maps launched.

  3. Big Apple Mouse fan here. Every time I use a different mouse, I feel like Iā€™m holding a softball. Doesnā€™t feel like a precision tool to me. Holding the Apple Mouse feels like Iā€™m holding a scalpel, and Iā€™ve never felt like it wasnā€™t ergonomic. As for features, I donā€™t need 10 clickable buttons that I can reassign. But I DO need to be able to swipe and I can already do that effortlessly on my mouse.

  4. Apple Maps has always been better at its original killer feature: the ability to search for X in a given area. The Google Maps results for searching an area, in my experience, are not as strong and are noisy with paid results.

  5. To me and most people I know with Beats, enjoy their punchy and full bass, I think colored sound, sounds better than flat, flat just hurts my ears sometimes from the increase high frequencies.

  6. The ergonomics of the Magic Mouse is very rubbish- the charging on the bottom is not much of a problem because you only charge it once a month at most- but I understand the reservations towards it.
Headphones- audiophiles need to show me what they actually hear, colours in pictures i understand but hearing ā€œmids and lowsā€ in an audio piece is almost triggering to me – case in point – I think the WH1000-XM5 are just there , not worth the hype or the money, I only use mine at the gym- I always pick my AirPods Pro 2 for other uses- the ANC is even better there IMO

  7. I canā€™t be the only person that noticed, starting at 9:44: ā€œWith their trillions of dollars, they could just hire a buildingā€¦they could buy whatever people they wantā€¦ā€ šŸ˜³ I heard it, then I read it in the transcript…It was probably "buy a building" and "hire… people" in his original copy… but at their valuation, who knows what Apple is capable of?

  8. Apple maps is no where near better than google and im surprised there are no waze fan boys saying "waze > all maps". Apple doesn't have important data such as blocked roads or time restrcited road, vehicle restricted roads, accidents, speed camera warning or a way to tell apple there is a speed camera they missed. You're 5 times more likely to get a ticket from driving down the wrong road with apple than google not to mention one way streets which it just can't understand.

  9. I HATE the Magic mouse: besides the annoying way to charge it, it's very noisy! You may not notice it, but other people around you will! I can't use it in a quiet room when my family is trying to relax… forget about using it (and the keyboard) when someone is trying to sleep in the same room. CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK… šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚

  10. Got a hot take. Weā€™re reaching peak personal devices and a lot of new products and features are going to just underwhelm the overall population.

I donā€™t think VR is ever going to take over, I genuinely think weā€™re reaching a peak in human advancement when it comes to household technology. Itā€™s all ā€œaiā€ (pattern recognition) and adding cameras and wifi to things now.

  11. 24fps has its upsides, but probably not for video. It is better for animation. So for me, as an animator, I always have to remind myself that.

  12. For the Apple Maps one, I would say itā€™s true at least for the Apple Watch. The Watch version of Google Maps exists, but itā€™s really not great.

Also really donā€™t like the Magic Mouse. You can get the same functionality with the MX Master 3S and it actually feels excellent to use.

  13. Obv apple maps is the perfect take, not for everyone and not every area but for me personally it works and i find myself having a less angering experience when using apple maps

  14. Saint internet.

    The best.

So sorry to blow up your comment section with tangents. But as the algo seems very narrow Iā€™ve had my fill of certain select. And I would like to move on to be people who study and do research.
Yeah there are things like traffic and logistics is possible on your phone but like also society. The internet to me shouldnā€™t be just good times or like the cash cow infotainment. Like thereā€™s post Covid, climate changes, kids making decisions to make families and figuring out weā€™re to put their elders, whatever a dao or crypto is, insurances, inequality, what war to pick and like is that their neighborhood lawn blower on at 9am on a Saturday.

Iā€™m not an expert but Chris miller, jake bittle, dr. Dorothy roberts, dr. Jasmine brown have great books. Can we just have a nonfiction real society book club every quarter. Iā€™ve never seen chap gpt write a book about society as a whole.

Other good people are Sam sanders, traci Thomas, Rachel Scott, Linsey Davis.

  15. Yes, I shoot 30fps because everything else divides into it AND, our electricity is 60hz and that too effects flicker and needs to sync with the footage. 24fps is simply old and outdated. If you want ā€œcinematic footageā€, you can shoot your 30p and 1/50th so you can get that motion blur. Or shoot your 30p with softer lenses, add grain, use a black mist filter, make it less perfect and youā€™ll have great cinematic footage at 30fps.

  16. Never had a problem with discomfort using the magic mouse … in fact these days I prefer it to my ergonomic gaming mouse with customisable weights and customisable proportions.

And the feature set yes makes all other mice feel just … shit. The charging is also a non issue highlighted by people who have never used it.

It charges super fast and has a really long life battery when it warns me about battery I have enough to get through the day and then some and then it takes practically no time to charge and then I forget about it for another month.
