  1. I know people criticise the 3500$ price tag, but it is literally the same thing as the hololens, the other 3500$ enterprise/dev spatial computer. I tried one last week at a museum and while I wouldn't buy it myself, the compute and optics packed into it definitely justify the cost. What the team said in the podcast is right: the first couple of gens will only be meant to be bought by enthusiasts developers and it will be a long time until it really catches on with the mainstream public. The idea and use cases are exactly what VR should become in the future though and I can't wait for it to become more accessible.

  2. I have the Quest 3 and I work in an open office environment. Due to the weight of the Quest 3, I am able to use it for most of the day. I have the Globular Cluster head strap for the Quest 3 and due to this, I am able to use it the whole day but anything heavier, I would not be able to go the whole day.

  3. It’s not heavy it’s just new and the muscles in your neck and shoulders will adapt. FFS stop bitching until you’ve used it for a few weeks everyday. Always so negative it gets old. Just use it and realize it will get easier as you continue to use it. You have not spent any extended time with it.

  4. Hello Fellow Humans,

Being permanently disabled and forced to be in bed basically for the rest of my life. I am glad Apple made this. Not for me because it's way too expensive and I could never afford it. But I am hoping by like 2030 we will be able to have Full Dive VRMMORPG Technology. Because the thought of not being in pain and being able to be a version of myself in a simulated world while laying in bed sounds so amazing.

I would get the apple vision if it was say maybe $2k. But being disabled I really would use it for my TV and Entertainment. Which is mainly all I do so it would be used a ton. Slap some high end headphones on and I could watch a movie on a massive screen while in bed or play games in bed on a fully immersive system. However it's apple so gaming is out. So essentially for me it would be a $3,500 TV and Movie theater.

Also I don't understand if it's that heavy so why not unload some of the tech to a pocket device. Like another battery size device that does X Y Z processing that doesn't need to be on the head at itself. It may not sound like a lot but say the wifi, Bluetooth, extra memory, just small things that add up to say 2lbs removed from your head. Honestly if you made a cell phone size device that's double in thickness I bet that would be a lot better than on your head.

  5. It's the experience that is the main selling point for the device. It's still to inphant in the posibilites due to the limitations of weight and battery life. Treat it like a brick phone, with time we'll get it to a smartphone and that's when everyone will not be able to live without one. The experience, mark my words!

  6. I think their main focus is to put as many tech as possible and showcase them as much as possible. They just want to show the possibilities. Hence, the price and other little things like weight and battery. They just want to start the hype and go from there.

  7. I’m sorry, but I need to call you out on this: there always a problem with a new product! I’m not defending Apple here, I’m calling you out on the fact that you are using “problems” as a sales tactic to listen to your podcast. Please stop doing that, because in my view you downgrading your image. Show it in your review video instead, because that summarizes all the pro and cons.

  8. That's because you're not using the headset with apples true balance LED cube that is used to counter weight the front it costs $1099 simply clips on the back of your head

  9. They should make a smart watch with haptic feedback to work with the headset. So when typing you get the vibration youd get with your phone

  10. a big F to anyone 5'2 and under, any headset over 500g is gonna be a neck killer,

Bigscreen beyond and the MeganeX – Shiftall are the only headsets worth looking at.

No point all this tech but you can only use it for an hour at a time.

  11. When people work at VR companies, they should build a "weight rig" that is just a minimalist frame that they can load up with weights at various locations, and attach straps to at various points, and just shift the weight around all they like, and the developers should have to wear one of these things ALL day as they work, and keep adjusting it until they don't mind it at all. Then their final build has to meet that specification.

  12. Can't they offer some kind of suspension cable that you hook up to the back and then to the ceiling to hold your head up? Maybe for about $99 on the Apple store..
