why does it sound like this review is narrated by an AI… am I crazy?
Why is Shodan's voice so different when it's the same person doing it? Age?
Idek if I’ll ever play this game just because of time restraints, but all the love this game is getting is so refreshing to see in an age where it seems like almost every game is ass. I hope this inspires devs to make more games that are closer to 1 for 1 remakes, as long as they are honest about it in the marketing like this one was.
Well, I never played the original, so fortunately I'm not gonna have to spend most of the game doing comparisons.
To anyone planning to play, I recommend leaving most of the controls on default. While some things may seem odd and somewhat clunky, many bindes (and lack thereof) in my opinion add to the experience. The interact button being mouse 2 is unique and to aim pressing the scroll adds to that "old game" vibe.
A big part of the original System Shock was its ui system. By everything being mouse controlled, it added to the immersion because it felt like the main character was manually sorting his inventory or turning on cybernetics. Same goes for the remake. By default, many cybernetics aren't binded to any keys and the flashlight is binded to the most awkward button possible so it encourages to manually turn it on from the inventory.
Now do Ultima Underworld I and II
But where is the console release date? They promised it was coming to console, I followed this game development since they announced it. Now they suddenly drop all mention of console release.
Finally the chain of bad PC ports is broken.
Watch the video in 2X speed for optimal experience.
Been waiting for this for a while now. I like the way they surprise release it. Was an instant buy.
The moment you said making inventory easier than the original and making switching guns and easier reloading, you just lost every hardcore gamer that played the original.
Fans have been waiting for this for a long time. I just don't understand why there is no German language output. There was a German dubbing in the original. Is that planned?
My brother helped make this game! He did such a good job.
Well… You say this is one of the most important games in history…and you say the remake is the best way to experience it. If this remake is the absolute best way to experience one of the most important games of all time, I would imagine it with a rating well above 8… 🤔
@gamingbolt good review but to many spoilers
Doesn't look like something I'd enjoy. Pass. Hope it's intended audience enjoys it tho.
It'd be wild if this defeated Zelda TotK for GOTY, talk about a underdog victory
Wanting them to change level design entirely and cut out a major part of the game is very stupid lol
Finaly game worth of money and time
This review put me to sleep
id like to know what "partial controller support" means on steam for this specific game…i know what it means on other games, but not this one…i wanna know that before i spend 40 bucks
Isn't this the Mind Warehouse guy's voice? I have come here just after watching one of his videos. If it's you I have to admit your channel is awesome!
"Immersive sim" is not a genre, but more a design philosophy. System Shock is not an immersive sim, it's a first-person RPG/Shooter hybrid. Thief is not an immersive sim, it's a first-person stealth game. RPG, Stealth game <—there's your genre.
They did a real nice job with the blocky textures and environments.. its a very appealing art style
I played this game's demo when I was a toddler, Im now a grandparent
was this written and spoken by an AI or something
I am glad system shock remake is finally coming out took them long enough.
this game is'nt out now it still on pre-order i think they delayed again. oeps it's out now go buy this game
The fact that I can't buy it on the day of release on PS says how shit this game is. They don't have enough confidence to allow that.
Any idea what the “sim” part of this game is? Is it even an immsim?
