  1. Great talk, Anastasia. Now that its 2022, I'm curious how/if you've been able to maintain a sans smartphone life and if so, what (if any) the challenges you've faced and how you've overcome them? Very interesting topic, and great research. Thank you.

  2. We see smartphone addiction on both the old and young these days, it's hard to stop or limit using smart phones. I personally we should think of this trend seriously, knowing how to avoid being addictive to smartphone would saves huge amount of time on a daily basis for everyone

  3. I attended a webinar with Dr. Dedyukhea via the National Wellness Institute today, 7-20-22. This TEDx Talk is still relevant! Take you “Digital Wellness” to heart.

  4. Enjoyed….but sorry…..your She Pastor….wasnt and can't biblically be…a Pastor. Scripture clearly teaches only Men can be called as Pastors.
Now that your off grid….I hope you have time to read all the Bible scriptures on this. Bless.

  5. Yes ..but it's depend on the place where u heading on or working..like u have a job in any particular office..u might not have time to operate Ur device..and it's makes habit..moreover if Ur busy with some necessary task which is beneficial for u..u forget to use Ur device…nothing bad operating device…all depends on circumstances.

  6. Great talk to listen carefully and to be shared with our relatives. It is one of the most critical issues nowadays, affecting both the adults and the children in the real social life. We are truly wasting our time by being "connected". The sooner we set aside our smartphone the sooner we are going to get our life back.

  7. Asking me if I could live without a cell phone is like asking me if I could live without being attacked by a bear every morning. I have not had a cell phone in 14 years and SO GLAD I got rid of it long ago. I find that a landline with an answering machine is sufficient for my needs. Not having a cell phone is good for your health.

  8. First step, keep do not disturb on, keep calls and texts to go through, then power saving mode to keep you from you from using high data apps and videos. Next go to store and buy a cheap phone

  9. Smartphones, Androids, Social Medias and the like. All I can say is that if you're responsible enough and balance, then you're safe. I quit Social Medias because I don't need it. I use smartphone only when I trade and search for something. Use it only if you need it. .

  10. * listening to this while preparing for bed * * in the bathroom * * in the bedroom * Anastasia says: "Don't take your devices to the bathroom! Or the bedroom!" Oops…

  11. I would rather get dopamine release from being with people who im near with and whom i get happy by sharing experiences with ! Like i did before smartphones existed where i feel things vere less superficial. Now im getting superficial nonhuman "happy hormones" while being completely lonely inside my Room…..

  12. I can, but society around me can't, anymore.

    1) Family gets mad because they can't call me,
    2) ALL Google services (and similar services) require you to give a phone number for verification/security reasons, … I can't change passwords without either having a backup email or a phone number..
    3) Job application doesn't work (or atleast it's harder) without a phone number, bosses want to be able to contact you

I could go on but you get the point.. I tried it, but it's essentially easier to just be aware of how much time is being spend on the smartphone and how much you are using it, because you have to do so.

  13. I have 2 cell phones. The one I actually use as a phone is a BlackBerry Torch 9810. It doesn't have Internet, but I can call with it, text with it, and use it to take pictures. What more do I need?
The Samsung Galaxy S8 I own is used for one thing, and one thing only: a screen for when I fly my drone. It doesn't have a SIM card in it, because I feel like flying distrated isn't a great idea.

  14. Very well stated! The problem that annoys me the most of cell phone users is in traffic. More drivers are not watching the traffic signal when it turns green. I don't look at or answer my phone when I'm driving, only when parked in a lot and sometimes not even then⛔️🚫⚠️

  15. Good words of wisdom BUT, how many people really do something about this. Or do they really care? I, myself have already started to phase myself out of using a smart phone and don't even use mine often as it is now!

  16. This is no big deal. Phones are ruining our lives. I throw the phone in thr back of the closet. Once a week I take it out to call a few close friends. I never answer incoming calls. I have never liked using a phone. A waste of time
