  1. Finally, people who actually know what they're talking about making a video on it. "More about being comfortable gaming laid back on your couch, rather than serious competitive gaming"

  2. like seriously to there latest iteration I hope to god its true there adding analogue sticks I don't care if it adds $5 – $10 to the price analog sticks are far better than d pads.

  3. I think the steam controller is what all this is really about.  The Steam Machine is for attracting console gamers to make the switch to Valve/Steam.  PC Gamers would rather customize their own setup instead of buying a console but would like a controller that can play most of the games in their library well.  They have to get this right because they have sunk too much into this project and to get both current Steam users and console gamers on board, the controller must be good.  It has to translate/compare to current controller layouts while also being functional for mouse/keyboard titles.

  4. man that touch analog thing looks like shit probably feels like shit too, never ever had a good experience with touch stuff. there will be issues like your thumb is all the way at the end for turning say car, but it wont turn all the way because it works poorly inaccurate etc.

  5. what im wondering is.. Steam gets all the latest games.. and it makes sense that PC can run them.. but can that little box run them all too? if you buy them on PC can you play them on the steam box as well?? If so i think this console would be the future of gaming for me..

  6. the haptic stuff both software and hardware dont look like they improved.

i think the real cutting point are in the trackpads inproving (mostly software wise), to trick you into the sense you're wielding a trackball or a set of buttons, not for you to constantly be looking at the controller thinking, wheres _ and _.

you need to simulate the feel of buttons, the feel of a trackball, provide dual-works on each trackpad in which a thumb starting dead center activates trackball mode but anywhere else activates button mode. and on top of that keep the latency down. the list goes on and on.

until the tech gets smart enough to pull off that kind of stuff, the experience will be more of eye-balling the controller than actually looking at the screen.

  7. everyone who are against the Steam Controller, fuck yourselves ignorants retards and conformists, if you have not even tried, Stay with your Xbox 360 controller and Leave them alone, don´t spit shit
