  1. I don't understand why their two strap headset went the way it did instead of following all the other successful VR headsets that went over the top of your head to help reduce weight. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel and follow what works.

  2. Translation tech has definitely gotten better, but let's be real – it's not flawless. Jumping between languages and tricky topics, especially in medical or tech discussions, can throw these platforms for a loop. Even in everyday languages like Spanish or French, they might miss the mark on specific details. And even the most common slang terms will stump those platforms.

And tonal languages? Oh boy, that's a headache. The nuances in languages like Mandarin or Thai often get lost in translation, making it a bit tricky to convey the right vibes.

As tech evolves, we need to work on these kinks to make live translate features more reliable. For now, just keep in mind the limits and maybe tiptoe a bit cautiously, especially when tackling complex chats in multiple languages.

I wrote my masters thesis on the effacacy of translation platforms and I speak 3 languages… I know all to well, the accepted mediocrity of translation platforms.

  3. I pre-ordered and then watched the 'cringe' demo of showing someone how to use it and I cancelled my order. I don't care how much it costs, but whats the point? Everything they show is something we all already do. I'll hold off.

  4. apple did not invent the use of titanium in electronic devices. maybe in phones. fujifilm for instance makes their camera bodies with titanium material coated with anti scratch resistance.

  5. Not sure why Marques is saying it’s heavy like that when other VR he has used is heavier. I think it might be the fit more than anything.

Also, the killer feature is AirPlay. It would be much cheaper to buy it than to buy multiple high quality big displays. Also, for adobe apps creatives like me, omg that capability makes the sky be the limit

  6. I tried to accidentally crack my screen on my phone in my work pants i had a scredriver in the pucket on my leg and i had the phone in the pocket that was on the same pocket and i forgot that and i did kneel and i heard a crack 😂

  7. $3500 for a beta testers. The issue isn’t the Vision Pro the issue is Apple 🍎. How sad will people feel in summer when the new lighter apple Vision Pro 2 with a m4 pro chip and 32gb of ram for the same $3500. Apple can and will do this and they done it just in 2023 if people forgot. Lol

  8. They guys are clearly not familiar with OpenAi open source Whisper_STT and Coquit_TTs which is damn near REAL TIME and only requires 6 seconds of anyone's voice to build a very good clone very quickly. I could see it feel very very close to "real time" I wouldn't say anywhere near "long pause" or conversations taking "twice as long" Funny thing is the dude with the windows laptops sounded mostly like a classic Apple Fan Boy to me.

  9. Well if the Vision Pro is this impressive on its first go around then I’m excited to see what the Pro 2-3 with a bigger battery, lighter weight, more apps to use.

  10. Samsung and Oculus had the virtual Environments for watching Videos on a huge screen on the moon, forrest, cinema, etc 10 years ago on the Gear VR and it looked amazing even back then and of course Apple "invented" it now but in fact just copied it without anyone giving credit and only made it higher res. 10 years later they should atleast put ur real Environment/ furniture on the moon and put the lighting on your furniture sswell while being on the moon, then atleast Apple would have improved the concept a little.
