4. I am curious, who BUYS these things? Its fancy and gamer-friendly, yes, but if someone has the money for these, would they not just buy a steam deck, gaming laptop or something like that? I just dont see which mobile games warrant having this kind of phone lol. And if you stream games on it then the entire point of the high-end hardware is gone. Dont get me wrong, it does seem like an amazing device. But I always wonder about the gaming phone market.

21. Bought a Rog 5S two years ago because I thought gaming phones were the next "must have" thing … the motherboard melted as 70% of them did … now I have Steam Deck and a cheap phone , priorities redefined… still love them all tho

22. I want to ask anyone who used the ROG Phone after the 2, have they fixed the problem with the phone suddenly dying or won't charge?
    I really want to pull the trigger on the 7, but I'm kinda scared about durability after my Phone 2 died in less than 2 years

23. the whole idea of a gaming phone is ridiculous. it's a terrible platform for playing high res 3d games anyway (controls suck, it's hard to see more complex graphics on a smaller screen, networks speeds are worse)

The problem with these phones and why I personally haven't invested in one since they were released (and I'm also guessing why other people my age (39) might not is our generation, the ones that can actually afford this phone) don't just game. We're not 12 years old anymore. We need the cameras. We have little kids or families with older children. The only thing I'm getting with a gaming phone over an S23 Ultra is active cooling and some shoulder buttons, which isn't necessary if you just buy a controller.

32. The external cooling system might sound gimmicky but it's actually pretty useful if you're playing emulated PS2 games on the phone that cause it to overheat.

42. How much did they pay you for this review? 😂 1080p display. Not even worth reviewing. Its 2023. Doesnt matter if its a 500hz screen if its not sharper than 1080p. My current phone is 120hz 1440p..

43. Honestly not that much of an upgrade from the 6D Ultimate. They need to step up their game and add 1440p 120hz screen by now.
