  1. It just needs to be easier to open, they probably wont let you replace the battery when charge runs out like the old ones, but I would be fine with that. I had a Nexus 5 and I replaced its battery at least 3 times that I remember, it wasn't exactly "designed" to be opened by the user but you could just do it with a youtube guide and a guitar pick. Same as I have done for my nintendo switch and joycons, the replacement batteries are generally sold with the necessary tools for it.

  2. Regardless how you feel about the EU, you can't deny how unfathomably based they are against big tech. Hopefully once digital games become the only way to acquire games, they find a way to straight up outlaw C-bombs from consoles, it's quite insane how sony almost for away with it.

  3. I miss having a removable battery.I hope this does force them to comply worldwide. Also good point about the power of cell phones these days. Most people dont need a flagship unless you are doing some sort of hardcore processing.

  4. I don't get it. My phone already come with 3.5, expandable storage, dual sim, and 4k display. Y'all just need to stop kissing Apple and Samsung ass so much and vote with your wallet.

  5. I'd rather have them removable but with a little locking mechanism maybe so the back doesn't just pop off. Battery shouldn't shrink I would think at all either just be weirdly shaped and phones will be bigger again in a good way. One thing that worries me though is the technology law that might be passed soon which lets intelligence groups legally spy on you.

  6. >more government is bad unless I personally benefit from it

No but in all seriousness, this is a dream come true

  7. manufacturers will just implement proprietary form factors for their replaceable batteries, ensuring that you can only buy the batteries from them… and ridiculously overpriced

  8. Majority of people who buy phones don’t give a fk about removable batteries. No one cares to give up water proofing their phone just to have a battery that’s removable. Most people enjoy upgrading their phones every few years. Major manufacturers will simply make an EU version of their phones at a very high premium for the Nuisance Tax of useless EU government drones.

  9. I had a htc thunderbolt. Lol they sold cases with a bigger battery. I had one of those and a xl battery with a fat back it came with. Dude. The stuff was amazing! I mean, i think i went through 6 of them with verizon so take that as you will. Bad phone lol

But no, not a trade off i want. Give me a bigger thicker phone lol. I wanna pour champagne like im lil wayne!

  10. I foresee a dock with 3-4 batteries charging at all times and just grabbing a few when I go places instead of blocks and cords and searching for power

  11. I think that you just fell in love with the EU. All these regulations are about punishing companies that will punish customers and only some useless bureaucrats will benefit.

First of all, in my opinion such changes would cause a massive increase in devices’ cost due to massive costs connected with redesigning many parts, at least according to companies.

The second thing is that even non removable batteries are stills pretty easy to remove. Maybe it is just my Polish mentality, but with some basic tools and a good tutorial you can do it at home without going to the repair center.

Power banks will still have a solid future, because there will still be some other devices with built in batteries that will not be affected by new rules.

  12. But today you can carry a battery pack that recharges and connects to the USB ports. You do mention the external banks, they are bulky, but they work. I'd like to go back to the replaceable battery. Problems with that is a 2/3 year and older phone, the battery is obsolete. Can't find the original factory, you'd end up with some China crap that overheated, wouldn't hold a charge. Good review, interesting to wonder what will come. Thanks.

  13. 2:27 It is not about the car, but the amount of adapters and power supplies that you have. With the 12V outlet you can easily charge at least 5 phones at the same time. My car does not even have an USB and it is not a problem.

  14. As long as the IP rating is maintained this is only a win IMO. As someone who does outdoorsy stuff, not needing to put my phone in a clumsy shit plastic cover has been amazing.

  15. Gigachad europe on this one, very based. VERY. Also fuck yah I'd take a 20 percent reduction for instant charging with additinal batteries. Apple's excuses are pathetic.
