Pixel 8 Pro is my new daily driver, but not just because of the hardware… Can we trust Google on the 7 years of software updates?

  1. I just got my black Pixel 8 Pro, and its setting up right now as im watching this. Interesting to see how the migration from the iPhone works. You have to connect your iPhone directly to the Pixel 8!!!

  2. Google phones stole my heart years ago with Nexus 6P, I've tried other phones, but there is no going back. Only Zenfone got close to this quality mostly beceause of very clean software.

  3. unfortunately you showed the corvette recording with audio filtering, but didn't show that the resulting audio was absolutely terrible, the wind was too loud despite your attempt to filter it out, and your voice sounded robotic where the ai tried to pick it out.
I've bought pixels over the years, but having audio that bad is really off-putting, it renders video recording useless. I really hope that can be fixed in an update.
the video over-sharpening and face brightening was pretty bad, but far more tolerable than unusable audio.

  4. I've been using one plus 7 pro for 5 years now and it was time to change (because I'm a little disappointed with OP), so ordered the pixel 8 last week. Really enjoyed your review and appreciate you removing my doubts regarding this change. Keep up the good work!

  5. software locking of features has to be one of the worst thing that apple brought into the smartphone market. Thankfully android is open source and we have a really amazing community who will find workarounds to bring these features to other phones, but I really feel sorry for iphones . I hope the third party appstore laws from EU will finally open up iOS and stop this software monopoly that apple started for good.

  6. pretty sure the community will port the Gcam, photos and camera photography/videography experience from the pro phone to the non-pro and get practically the same results

  7. Great review thanks!! Especially pointing out the differences between the pro and the normal version! Gonna get myself a pixel 8 🙂
