  1. "nissan has never made a track car"
GTR GT3, LM Nismo, Formula E cars, the many, MANY skyline GTRs from JGTC and other series, the old Super GT Nissan, come on bro thats such a bad take…

  2. I ove this podcast, but that Nissan take is so inaccurate, Nissan has many track cars and even partnered with Gran Turismo to create the GT Academy in the early 2000's ( I was so bummed that I was too young to compete for that)

  3. You nailed it! I am constantly surprised by your extremely attuned to marketing and how the big boys play, especially when you and Sam go at it. Sam is a great example of most people, who donā€™t understand how marketing works. He tends (not always but itā€™s his default pattern) to gauge his predictions and even his experiences tend to be biased, even though he knows it is, he still lends into it and most of the time he loses the argument. And he is vital to your Apple Bar show, I love it.

Now to me, i worked for almost 2 decades at the worldā€™s largest Advertising agency and we managed many of the Fortune 500 firms and those equal internationally.

Having said that, when you two go back and forth on say a subject just like thisā€¦ YOU SEE what it really is!!!

It was really an iPhone commercial wrapped around new iMac & laptops.

Apple is one of the few handful of companies that are so true to their DNA. Their in-house and the very creative agencies they use, are masters of marketing!

It was the OG of a branded Technology. Apple is a lifestyle firstā€¦ then when one uses it, it delivers 100%. And that is why their customer loyalty is what every CEO would sell their spouse me and children for!!

All that to say, if itā€™s your intuitions plus college degree in communications or whatever keep it up kid!

You understand the real world more than mostā€¦ another example of ā€œevent Marketingsā€ are any ā€œfree concertā€ usually in the park. Think NYC Central Park concerts/theatre. Those are all commercials for the brand that is sponsoring it. Ext time look at all the outdoor signage, direct marketing, print materials, etc. the sponsor is everywhere and everywhere at the event.

The whole event is paid for from advertising budgets! There is nothing for free! Nothing. Take apps. People especially at the beginning when apps were becoming robust weā€™re so impressed that these companies are spending all this money to make these amazing apps for their brand. What would they are forgetting is you have to sign up for that and it takes the most valuable information that you could possibly offer any company and give it to them and then it follows you at every move so it knows everything about you just that app and then weā€™ve seen that in social media.

That said, itā€™s not free. Itā€™s payment that you signed it give is the current greatest commodityā€¦ ā€œinformation.ā€ In this, the Information Age, data/info is much more valuable then currency, gold or anything!! Those who saw this comingā€¦ now are the immediate recipients of the gold mine because now we have the super computers to now analyze all this big data. Wow! Are these companies growing, expanding and delivering at speeds previously had no comprehension! You kids and younger generations are living in the most odd time for human history. Why?

Think how our brains work, really all the brain/mind is are semi-good data gathering machines that take that information and makeā€™s predictions. Thatā€™s it. Everything we think we are seeing is not live but a kinda AVR. And so since our minds are really focused on making predictions based from patterns.

That is how society worksā€¦ we progressed in magnitudes when we became literate and educated from the enlightenment principles. All these roadmaps are used to do 1 best practice to make the most informed decisions.

So this time period we have entered into has NO HISTORICAL STORY for us to glean and then make our best predictions to help insulate our lives and societyā€™s future.

Thatā€™s why you all are gonna be in a fascinating time in history. Itā€™s the first time we have nothing to help us prepare for our futures.

    Keep it up!

  4. I love your takes on tech and gadgets and stuff Iā€™ve been a long time fan and I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever disagreed with any of your takes but by far your take on Nissan is sorely misinformed, if itā€™s your opinion; thatā€™s ok but it just sounds like you donā€™t know Nissans History šŸ˜‚

  5. I can't believe Marques also had it randomly play jazz for him. Back when I was on Spotify I decided to try it out while on a bike ride and it did a good job playing stuff that I had listened to in the past and stuff like it. Then the next day I hit resume and it was said something along the lines of "this famous musician just passed away, let's pay tribute to their contributions to the world of jazz" then started in with a bunch of jazz, which I've never listened to ever. I just manually selected something else but that was a weird experience and since you can't remove anything from your listen history that will forever be there. I ended up switching to Apple Music for other reasons but their Stations feature hits for me 99% of the time compared to Spotify which even outside of the AI DJ would throw in some real weird recommendations.

  6. Im not a GTR fanboy but im a car guy through and through. Guys you gotta stop the automotive segments you have no idea what you are talking about i and others know you mean well but damn you are so far off it. The current nissan GTR when it first came out was so track focused its tires were filled with nitrogen as normal air was considered too unstable. The GTR can corner so hard they designed special rims with knurling rings to prevent the tires from being ripped off it could corner thst hard and fast. Not to mention lotus yes lotus secretly helped develop the spine of the car. The normal Nissan GTR released in 2007 was a supercar killer in a straight line and on the track. It even had a function where it knew you were on a track so it took off the artificial top speed limiter because tracks dont have speed limits apart from the pits of course and also had the tracks stored in its navigation system. So please before you start with cars on this podcast just think about it and stick to tech like phones snd laptops ypu guys are great at that stuff

  7. Sad thing is Marques will never admit he is wrong on Nissan or actually take the time to learn automotive history in general. Heā€™s just another arrogant YouTuber who thinks his opinion is right and if you disagree youā€™re the one thatā€™s wrong

  8. Scrolling thru FB while watching this and a second after yall mentioned the Nissan car I scrolled past a post about it šŸ«Ø no one likes that s šŸ¤£

  9. Fun Fact: Spotify actually creates a ton of playlist just for you. I was trying to help a friend with a wedding playlist and typed 50s Wedding Mix and it had a playlist just for me based on songs I already listened to. I also checked with each decade and other topics as well. It's a really neat feature.
