  1. I wil never pay that much for a phone. So glad Apple and other carriers give other options. I will happily buy the cheapest phone or buy refurb online somewhere. Just got the iPhone 11 and won’t be getting another phone for a long time. This is coming from the iPhone 7. In fact, I was forced to buy another since the 2018 recall “no service/motherboard” problem happened on my 7 all late. Plus it needed a new battery.

  2. I'm living in Serbia. So 1000$ phone for me is not an option. I'm changing phones often, for not more then 300€. So I buy new midrange Xiaomi's or a few mounths old Samsung, iphone…

  3. The best solution for us – stop buying their products. Until we buy and complain they still will be selling it and increasing the price. It’s simple. There is no need to buy it every year

  4. People are still kink with the high price of the flagship devices . Why don't just think of they deserve the price ? Don't expect nowadays to have a decent phone under $ 1000 .

  5. Still rocking my Samsung S9+ for the past 2 years and I'm completely satisfied with it..i will not buy another phone until mine brakes

  6. The secret is to buy a last gen flagship. It's not like the phone markers update THAT much over a year.. You pay around 50% less for something missing around 10% of the features on current flagship. just do the masic maths.

  7. It's because idiots allow Apple to charge that much which has a knock on effect where other OEM's say if Apple are doing it why can't we and so they do. Blame Apple and their stupid pricing on everything like $999US for a monitor stand or $500 for a keyboard for a ipad pro . Also it's idiots out there that buy phones at these prices that are to blame.

  8. Just don't be a dumb person and buy it out right, does it hurt to wait 6 months-1 year for the price to drop before purchasing? I got my note 9 midnight black for $200!!?

  9. Simple if the consumer didn't pay these dumbass prices for phones then the companies would have to rethink their pricing strategy, regardless of what they cost to make.

  10. Many reviewers are at fault too, but in the end customers can only blame themselves for wasting their own money. I could better understand the high cost if there would be extended warranty and longer software updates, but you basically get nothing more than a slightly better camera compared to phones half the price. I don't have a problem with already ultra rich top dogs making more money, but I don't understand why many reviewers and some fanboys too push people to buy overpriced trash by hyping it to no end. Rich guy will buy whatever he wants no matter the price, so no hyping is needed just to fool people with average income.

  11. Higher prices, fewer buyers. No substantial or revolutionary improvements. Short span WOW effect. Rapid obsolescence. What a vicious cycle!

  12. dont use geekbonch very bad benchmark not realtime result and dont use appl worst slow product with bad software for beginners only huge failed product

  13. Who is going to buy a phone at the current prices? I wonder if OEM/Telecom company's will offer larger discounts, bundle accessories or additional promotional items to encourage people to upgrade?
Will consumers hold onto their current devices for 3 or more years moving forward?
If you're a consumer, is a new or upgraded mobile device a priority, over the next six months? [damaged beyond repair, lost and stolen phones not included]

  14. Its simple. People nowadays are that stupid to pay for overpriced smartphones for the sake of trend. Some of you tech channel is also to blame for it frankly speaking. ?????. With lines like "Best high-end smartphone of 2020". Right? Duhh!!! Paid videos.

  15. you have many valid points i give you that, but the example you gave with the iphone does not go with the other (snapdragon 865 nor 5G) as the iphones have none.. ?

  16. I bought Samsung Note 9 in January for $490 (tax included) new in the box. It was an upgrade from lg v30 that I bought on launch. I am perfectly happy. I think I will stick to getting a year old flag ship phones from now on. Only concern I have is security updates. As of right now Samsung is supporting 3 years of updates and most other manufacturers support only 2 years. One thing for sure, I will probably never get a $1,500 considering I can build a pretty high end gaming pc for the same price.

  17. Too bad no one will buy these but the rich and people who has better checks. To me I got the s20 from a upgrade. But just me I'm not one of these people that buys a new phone every year. I consider my phone outdated if the software is outdated.

And the least feature I ever don't use is the cameras, so…. Just drop the cameras that has more then two. It makes no sense or different from any other phone.

  18. OEM falling for the 5G memes!!….moronic OEM falling for it makes the price gone skyrocket telco can't even provide a stable 4G connection without any hiccup and shit but heyy….fark 4G….5G is our new GOD and they bandwagon on this shiny new 5G…can't blame aplel coz aplel will be aplel….this retards android OEM falling for it makes me sad famiglia….shiny new 0nm 10G chipsets + $5000 phone freaking when??

  19. Great points, but I think there are other elements. Phone makers are not only looking for making profits, but they are also looking to make increasingly larger profits every year to satisfy shareholders and for their executive to justify their huge bonuses. If people are buying less devices and keeping their phones for longer, the solution is to raise prices. But they can't raise prices without putting something additional in return, so they come with "features" that are not worth their price premium. from 12+ GB of RAM on a phone, 256 GB storage, 120 Hz display, all to justify the massive and non-logical increase in prices, even though it does not cost them much more…
Eventually, I don't think this model is sustainable. Apple has a unique advantage that it owns the software and ecosystem, and they can offset some of the cost by selling services like apple arcade, TV+, Music, iCloud or making money from selling third-party apps sold in the app store. Or selling overpriced accessories like AirPods.
Personally, I think the 1000$ phones are jokes, especially Android devices, which gets only a few software updates .

  20. Apple and Samsung cut the prices their high-end flagship smartphones because of an impending recession and the loss of jobs for most people in the middle class and lower class there not going to be able to thinking about survival and providing for their family's. Maybe this year mid-range smartphones will probably have boom in sales because of the price range around $99.99-$800.00 and there will be much more affordable options for 5G smartphones Oppo , Xiaomi ZTE & Nubia , Redmi , Motorola, Blu Products, Umidigi , Meizu, Nokia, TCL/ Alcatel , Sony, Oukitel ,Doogee, Nu Mobile , Huawei. OnePlus

  21. It's easy just buy a yesteryear flagships or buy new midrange ones..like LG G7 sd845 i got it for $99 and it's still snappy for daily use,not that i can't afford an iphone outright but it's a matter of essentials..these days $300-400 phones like redmi k20 pro, realme X2 pro and lenovo Z6 pro gets most of the job done with sd855

  22. I would never buy any phone over 300 ?. BTW they were fine to earn 400 on phone when it costs 200, 500 when it costs 500. Now they must earn 900 when it's 600. Sure. Pure fu..greed
