  1. I completely forgot to mention it but others have pointed it out – this does NOT have VoLTE. Which is a bummer

  2. if only it was like android 7 or 8, it'd be way better
android 7 would allow termux to work, so you could use it as sorta tiny server for messing around with stuff
android 8 or higher, would allow flashing GSI roms (if you manage to unlock bootloader 'n such of course)

  3. Having a Snapdragon chipset, let alone 600-series on a no-name brand smartphone is still an achievement. Cheaper phones like this are usually powered by crappy MTK chipsets (prior to Dimensity & G series) & outdated Android OS. This phone, during its release (2015 or 2016?), was on-par with HTC One A9, ZTE Axon 7 Mini & of course, Mi 4i (during Hugo Barra's Xiaomi era). Granted that Mi 4i used the overclocked version of SD 615 but still, it was a mid-range chipset & international market got this instead of the more powerful SD 801 China-exclusive Mi 4.

  4. Smoorez, how can I make a suggestion directly to you for new content? I swear it's not "constructive criticism". I think it would be an interesting addition and could hold up to the iWish series. How can I DM you? I don't have Instagram.

  5. "I miss aero effects" I don't have to miss them at all because I'm watching this on a Vista machine! I don't give up what I love for the sake of updating!

  6. Looks like the Redmi Note 5A, maybe this this company is the ODM for xiaomi? Judging by manufacture date and overall design and display being incredibly similar

  7. i think it's not running a custom rom, but it's definitely running a qcom flavor of AOSP. came with trebuchet launcher and some of phones running this software also came with cyanogenmod profile switcher (i previously had a phone called andromax and i can tell it right away that software feels almost the same)

and there's cyanogenmod/lineage file manager too.

  8. Really impressed by this device i have to say

For the money i might even buy one and mess around with it ๐Ÿ˜‚

it definitely $hits on any and every welcome phone to date that's for sure.

  9. Honestly this phone would be perfect as a music player since it has an analog headphone jack. If it had an expandable SD card slot, you could do so much more with it.
