All of car’s trims are equipped with the same engine setup: Skyactiv 2.0 Liter 4-cylinder that is coupled with a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional automatic (that will cost you roughly another $1200). For the car of such small size the engine output of 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque is more than enough. Miata has incredible acceleration of 6.1 seconds to 60 mph, beating any direct competition due to its light weight.

Fiat 124 Spider: fiatusa.com/spider.html

  1. !!!UPDATE!!! 1. There is a mistake in the video. Subaru WRX's horsepower output is not 650 hp, it should say 268 hp. 2. Focus ST is a front-wheel drive.

If you are in a search of buying an affordable sports car, then we have put together a list of the best new options. We’d like to draw your attention to the fact that we only included new cars that you will be able to buy in 2017 and 2018. If there are some used car models than can outperform these new ones, please leave them in your comments below, so we can have a quick comparison of new vs old.

  2. Aaaaaaaah if only the WRX made a good reliable 650 hp.

I'll take a slightly lengthened RWD version of the VW Golf GTI, with a small turbo V8, widened wheel arches, and 275 rubber to hook. And for less than 30K. Should be able to get it without all the electronic junk, 3-dozen airbags, 15 drive control nannies, and 300 pounds of sound deadening.

I long for some company out there to strip down a 4 door sedan to basic stout, durable, simple goodness, put a modern turbo small V8 under the hood, give us LSD RWD, 6 speed manual with a clutch that would never roast, and suspension to make it all work. Two airbags, some drivetrain nannies that can be completely defeated with the push of a button, including ABS. Make it all simple, durable, reliable, and give it long enough gears to get good highway MPG with that turbo V8. Oh, and don't make the car a "top trim" including 10 grand of garbage I don't want.

  3. I wish the WRX had 650 hp for 30 grand, I would buy in a heart beat! How could you miss that typo man! ?Oh and the Focus St is front wheel drive..the RS is awd! Lol

  4. Every car I've gotten from gm has been highly reliable my 16 sonic sedan has been great to my dad has a 04 gto it's been great to him my moms cts 04 runs great their cheap easy to maintain easy to fix and look good beyond the year. We buy gm but to each their own

  5. Those statements are so false. At least as far as real and mature men are concerned. The notion of a fast car yes. A loud car no. That is the most stupid thing that pathetic and low self esteemed men seem to have an obsession with. A quiet and stealth like car is more luxurious, high tech and cool. It allows us to enjoy our music or conversation. Maybe such noisy car drivers have no friends to talk to. Creating noise and attention to ourselves is just a carry over from childhood when we yelled "mommy mommy look at me" when we climbed on the monkey bars or slid down the slide.
