Certainly for Playstation its been amazing out thw park action. Xbox has been pretty standard with nothing critically acclaimed that i can think of. EA has had a rude awakening with Battlefront 2 and Battlefield V and i hope they learn from it.

Best year? Not sure, but I can tell you the best 12 months in gaming history. Starting in September 1985 and over the next 12 months all my favorite franchises where released (in the US) Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Castlevania. Im pretty sure there was some other great stuff in there like Dragons Quest, Duck Hunt, Kid Icarus and Ghost & Goblins. Little did we know we would be playing sequels to those games for the rest of our lives, well maybe not so much Duck Hunt but you get the point.

Well that was awkward. I think saying that 2018 is the best year in gaming is pretty dumb; I get the value in the argument but the statement itself doesn't make sense to say right now. This is probably the strangest way to start that conversation (it's like me trying to prove that I'm the smartest person to have ever lived just to force a conversation about what intelligence is) but sure, I can see that some years can be broadly viewed as better than others in the gaming industry. But considering that people make "Top 10 games of last month", I'm not sure how much the internet is going to actually care.

Hell no, it had some fine games but nothing special imo. I think RDR2 and GoW were both great games but I won't remember them in 10 years from now tbh.

Red dead redemption 2 came out so that automatically makes it the best year ever together with 2010 because red dead redemption 1 was released then

Nah, I’d say that 2017 was much better for gaming. 2018 felt really underwhelming in comparison with the exception of a few titles like GOW and RDR2.
Just a shame that Star Wars Battlefront II single-handily made people forget what an awesome year in terms of gaming 2017 was.

This was a great year for games. Up there with last year and year like 98, 07 and 11.
Personally I think 2015 was one of the best years for gaming because we got games like The Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid V, Rainbow 6 Siege, and probably many more you could think of that I can’t off the top of my head. This is just my subjective opinion but 2015 had some of my favourite games of all time and games I’m still playing today.
