Seeing this game first getting announced I’m not surprised it’s as bad as it is. As a long time LoTR fan and absolutely love everything in the universe, I knew this was a hard pass all that time ago. I wouldn’t have downloaded this even if it was free.

If this was done with good mechanic, good graphics and used the voices from the actors in the film this could of been an amazing game with a great story line that added to the world of middle earth

Seems like a game that would release during the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox era with a 5 month development cycle to release in time with the movies. Instead its a game about Gollum that's coming out TWENTY YEARS after the films but still looks like it was given the same budget and development time as a licensed game cash in of the early 2000s.
Why couldn't they make a game about Gandalf?? Or even like faramir or boromir? No, the least intriguing character!

for a similar setting, but actually good execution, i can highly recommend the two Styx games. just recently played through them for the first time and they are solid stealth games (with highly adjustable levels of difficulty). both game feature a great setting and the first game even has quite a good story.

Don't you think these weird punctuation-less titles look kind of clunky? Why not something like 'zelda review: buy this game' instead of 'buy Zelda review' for example.
Still shocked they haven't made an awesome open world lord of the rings game yet (not talking about shadow of Mordor too, hated those games) something that fit along the story of lord of the rings… My fave game still has to be the third age.
I mean a bad game is a bad game, but I still find it kind of funny how you changed the title and thumbnail to be more incendiary after seeing the general response to the game. I'll buy for $14.99 the new Palace of Ice DLC for Solasta to get my RPG fix this Memorial weekend. Do that instead of wasting $50-60 on this trash. Also, who wants to be play Gollum? Not me I'd rather see a Dragon Age style LOTR CRPG with Gandalf, Legolas, Strider/Aragon, Gimli and team.
Oh gosh. I might be one of the few who was hoping to see something interesting, but this is probably worse than anyone thought it would be. Such a shame, would've been interesting to get a Styx like Lord of the Rings epic, but instead we got, this. Pricing seems to have dropped from the heinous pre-order amount, but still high for something that seems broken in so many ways, will be the nail in the coffin along with the state this is in.
Thanks for the review, at least seeing Dragons Dogma 2 and MGS3 coming to PC has brought some good news on this day lol

Honestly, even if this was well made, this game lost me at the concept level. Really weird choice for this IP.
Honestly guys, what is genuinely up with gaming as a whole right now? Totally serious! Should I just stick to reading more books and learn some actual useful life skills? Instead of wasting cash on half baked uni-student projects disguised as AAA…Just about every 'big' game is releasing as a pile of total crap, with just a few exceptions. Is this the delayed effects of the pandemic just showing up in finished product now? I dunno my dudes. I've lost all enthusiasm for even the games I was really hyped for, like Starfield. Now I'm worried that too will release a buggy, broken mess. Xbox has gone radio quiet, nothing on new Forza, or just about anything, which spells trouble for me. Let's hope they have a big June showcase or I might actually ditch my console and get a life. Impress me mum at least.

I feel bad for the people patching this game. Imagine being in a sinking ship and everyone else is on a lifeboat, but you have to try and patch the holes, knowing that no matter how hard you try, the boat is still going to sink.
