  1. Hey Chaps! CORRECTION: S-Pen Fold Edition does not support remote shutter, 72-65 = 7 (not 6 😆) – and this video is NOT paid by Samsung. Please watch to the end before you think it's sponsored.

  2. This design doesn't take into account the fact that many web developers aren't building for a screen that thin. I generally stop worrying about responsiveness at 320px, and this phone is 280px.

  3. It's been so fascinating watching people go from calling this launch iterative and unexciting to suddenly being wowed when they have it in hand.

That said, between you believing this is "just a phone," not ever multitasking, and not even being sure if you want to use your inner screen, I feel pretty confident in saying a folding phone isn't made with your demographic of users in mind.

My fear is that your demographic is then going to influence the designs of these phones for the people who they are made for.

Part of the reason why some people want a wide cover display that replaces a slab phone on their foldable is because they don't want to give up the slab.

They don't want to have to change.

They want a cover screen that gives them no reason to open their folding phone.

That's not how these things were designed in the mind.

There's a reason Samsung refers to the internal display as "the main display."

People wish to use the secondary display as a main, and are docking points from Samsung because of their want to have their cake and eat it too.

Google did just that, they created a foldable whose cover screen is better to use than it's internal display, where apps fail to scale to the screen.

That won't go so well for them, and I guarantee you IF we see a Pixel Fold 2, it's aspect ratio will become narrower on the front, just to better enable app compatibility.

This is all before we get to the fact that the Fold and its narrow candy bar form factor are both easier to hold one handed while unfolded and folded than the Pixel Fold.

All of this would be fine if we could admit this all comes down to subjectivity, but instead people are literally calling the wider cover displays "better" as they lead to poor holding of a 2k cost device and poor app compatibility.

    That's not "better."

  4. If purchased before 31st july then trade in, pre order discount and bundle discount and free Buds Pro 2 means real cost is actually closer to £1k

  5. Is it worth to take such expensive phone where we know in 1 year its folding or hinge will mess up. Hope u guys understand what i mean to say. currently i m using fold 3

  6. My first foldable is gunna be the zf5 pre-ordered can't wait. I'm sure Sammy will come around and go towards the honor magics style form factor sooner or later, either in the z fold line or an entirely new phone altogether, but for now, I'll settle. 1000 dollar trade in for my note 20 and 120 extra off and free storage upgrade to the 512 all in with tax like 800 ish makes the pill alot easier to swallow.

  7. I decided to lease this for a few months while waiting for the V2. Apparently the chinese model got some software updates just recently that added some of the software Samsung has better. Samsung is still likely ahead, but if it's not by TOO MUCH, the V2 will pull ahead with hardware. Im expecting to switch to V2 when possible, but I'll give the Fold 5 a fair try first. I will miss wireless charging for sure, but otherwise I dont think I'll miss that much. For me it's important that it's a full device when in cover display as well as opened, something the Fold 5 really isnt due to the narrow screen.

As for the mulitasking, it's kinda like having a van. 90% of the time it's probably pretty empty in the back but boy oh boy is it nice to have that van when you need that real estate. Same for these things. It's not THAT often I need to multitask on my phone for work or freetime, but it really sucks going back and forth on a regular phone when those cases eventually happen. I dont watch movies/videos at all really (you are an exception! :D) so I'm not too concerned over it not being optimal for watching videos. I mostly just need/want the app multitasking and maybe handwritten notes and a solid phone inside and out.

  8. I was fold 3 and Fold 4 user was very disappointed by fold 4 hing issue when went for repairs I had to pay extra 10k inspite having insurance very disappointed service by 3rd party which was given by Samsung's itself.
Which making money samsung have killed there premium customers they don't care or don't want to retain their customers.
Every year looking for new fool's to buy the product.

  9. The Fold 5's cover screen is better for single-handed mode unlike the S23 Ultra or other foldables because you can actually move your thumb to the other side of the screen without having to rotate your wrist or use a second hand.

  10. Not so much upgrade but a refinement. Clearly, Samsung have adopted a more Apple like approach keeping things the same with ever so slight changes. To me, this phone should have been called the fold 4S or pro rather than the fold 5.

  11. There's no true significant upgrade over the fold 4 that you'll truly notice. If you already have a fold 4 just save your money and wait for the fold 6.

  12. samsung to oszuści !!!!

  13. Regarding the promised updates, youtubers should pay attention to the fact that this smartphone was released in August with Android 13, Android 14 comes out in September, and will already be considered one of the promised updates, personally, I find this misleading and borderline dishonest on the part of Samsung and all Android manufacturers who release smartphones after June-July.

    🙏🏽

  14. Form factor of fold 5 is great for me as I can use s pen more comfortably when it is opened. It comes into my hand nicely. Perfect for architectural revisions. 👍

  15. I would love to watch videos in mini imax mode full screen on the main screen. Disney plus imax enhanced content with dolby atmos audio gives you the ultimate experience.

  16. picked up the pixel fold before the z fold 5 came out, yes id like to have the chipset but android 14 beta 4.1 has been amazing on battery life. yes there needs to be software tweaks for forcing larger screened apps. but i would put up with that because of the form factor. the beta fixed heat and battery for me. but man that cover display of the pixel fold is unmatched when compared to the z fold 5. Living in the US and only really having 2 foldable options i feel like i made the best choice

  17. I understand, an option about a product my vary from person too person. But let's be real. This is the Fold 4s. Samsung took a page out of the apple's playbook! 😢

  18. Can you elaborate why the Fold 5 is better than the Honor Magic V2? Doesn't Honor have better design and specs in pretty much everything? I know they already said the global version might come in the next month or so. From everything I see online. The Honor Magic is thinner, lighter has the same high end specs, bigger battery than the Fold 5! And it has a wider screen! So what exactly makes Samsung so much better then to call this the best on the market? I don't think brand name alone is reason to call it the best.
